Managing Projects with Microsoft Project

Use Microsoft Project to Effectively Manage a Project, not just Create a Schedule

Microsoft Project includes a host of powerful features that if used effectively greatly enhance your ability to manage a project of any size or complexity to a successful conclusion.
But to effectively use project you must learn more than just what buttons to press; you have to learn how to integrate MS Project into your management process, how to use MS Project to create a realistic and achievable schedule, to estimate and track resources, to track and forecast progress to identify issues and trends, and ultimately to help you solve real problems so that you deliver on-time and within budget each and every time.
This two or three-day (based on your needs), computer-based, exercise intensive, course provides an end-to-end overview of the project management process using Microsoft Project .  The course uses a threaded exercise in which you create a resource loaded, fully networked schedule using your own project.  Upon course completion you will have a valuable work product that will allow you to effectively manage your own project while you gain new skills needed to successfully manage a project using Microsoft Project.
Course Overview
The course provides an intensive overview of managing projects throughout the project lifecycle using Microsoft Project .
The course is designed to familiarize you with many of MS Project’s features, how they relate to managing a project throughout its lifecycle, and how to integrate Microsoft Project into your project management process.
After completing this course you will have a thorough understanding of how to use MS Project to manage a project from initial conception through delivery.
Course Format
The course is two or three-days in length (based on your needs) and based on a threaded exercise in which you create a realistic and achievable resource loaded, fully networked schedule using MS Project.
Interactive lecture sessions and discussion are used to prepare participants between exercises.
The course is highly experiential to ensure that participants learn by doing.  The course uses your own project for the exercises ensuring that you create a useful work product that you can continue to use to manage your project throughout its life.
Who Should Attend
Project and subproject managers, engineering managers, technical professionals, and anyone involved in developing or managing projects with Microsoft Project.
Attendance is limited to a maximum of 12 Participants to ensure a meaningful learning experience.
